Citrix Secure Access Endpoint Analysis (EPA) by Citrix Systems, Inc. is a client-side security component that evaluates the health and posture of a device before granting access to corporate applications, desktops, and networks through Citrix Secure Access or Citrix/NetScaler Gateway. It helps organizations enforce zero-trust, conditional access policies by ensuring only compliant endpoints can connect.

EPA performs quick, policy-driven checks on Windows and macOS devices, such as verifying the presence and status of antivirus and firewall software, operating system version and updates, disk encryption, required certificates, domain membership, file or registry markers, and running processes. The results are sent to the gateway, which automatically applies administrator-defined actions—allow, deny, quarantine, or require step-up authentication—based on compliance.

Designed for enterprise environments, EPA supports adaptive access and can prompt users with remediation guidance when their device does not meet requirements. It typically runs at logon and can be configured for periodic re-evaluation during a session, providing continuous assurance without disrupting productivity.

By validating endpoint integrity before access is granted, Citrix Secure Access Endpoint Analysis reduces risk from unmanaged or out-of-date devices, helps meet regulatory and internal security standards, and strengthens overall access control across on-premises and cloud-hosted resources.
